so the article is a fun diversion for me, but the takeaway i get is capital hindering removal of failing leaders for profit by maintainance of the appearance of authority. even in beekeeping. like a matroska doll or a fractal: the same thing shows up over and over again.

It ain’t all emperors and kings back then

Just came across this croudfunded cooperative publishing house.

Why do so many philosophers value anarchy but refuse to call themselves anarchists? Why don’t philosophers draw on the classical anarchist tradition? How can we think de facto anarchism as distinct from dawning anarchism? What is at stake in doing so? Does philosophy need anarchism? To answer these questions, in Stop Thief! Anarchism and Philosophy (Polity Books, 2023), Catherine Malabou reads submerged counter-revolutionary themes in the texts of several key philosophical thinkers. By doing so, Malabou helps us understand the ways in which philosophy has left anarchy unthought, while also stealing from it, and disavowing it. What emerges in her analysis is the importance of the non-governable, not just as a problem for philosophy, but as what opens towards other ways of sharing, acting, and thinking.

In this essay, we intend to analyze the connections between some fundamental anarchist principles — such as direct action, mutual support, self-determination, revolutionary violence — and initiatives in trans movements to depathologize transsexuality and oppose institutional violence. Far from assuming essentialisms regarding “being trans” or “being an anarchist”, we have identified similarities between the political strategies of trans movements and the aforementioned libertarian concepts. Our inclination, given this assimilation, is to elaborate on tranarchism as a way of illustrating the practical proximity between the libertarian claim for self-determination, self-government and the indivisibility of freedom, and the trans arguments for depathologization, for a rupture with the State’s institutional policies and for an affront to academically legitimized knowledge about transsexuality.

The official response to August’s protests shows how Indonesia’s small but active anarchist community has become the go-to bogeyman for governments seeking to justify crackdowns. The scapegoating of anarchists has meanwhile undermined the unity and political impact of anti-oligarchic protest movements.

Mainstream vegan reading material is often written from a liberal rather than a radical perspective. By “radical” we mean a perspective that addresses the “root” of speciesism and human supremacy. While under capitalism, individual consumer choices do play a role in upholding speciesism and human supremacy, we also acknowledge the role industrial civilization itself plays in waging war against all animals – humans included!

September 2025 became a month of an Asian spring. After Indonesia, the people of Nepal rose up in mass spontaneous protests, followed by anti-corruption riots in the Philippines. In the wake of these uprisings, governments have initiated a “black scare” aimed at targeting “anarchists” regardless of actual political or ‘anti-political’ orientation. Configured by Trump, Prabowo, and many others, the spectre of anarchy strikes fear into the hearts of all rulers.

To suppress the rebellion, the government manipulated the weather by causing artificial rain.6 We also experienced simultaneous disruptions on social media and suspected government interference with Meta. There were no power outages, only signal disruptions at the demonstration site. Nearly a dozen civilians have died, four when the House of Representatives (DPR) building burned down, and six others due to police violence, such as being run over by armored vehicles, police beatings, and tear gas. This wave, unlike previous ones, was very violent and claimed far more lives. The initiative for the demonstrations no longer came from the consolidation of formal organizations like student organizations and labor unions, but instead emerged organically from the general public. This is progress. In the past, it had been difficult for ordinary people to participate in demonstrations because they were suspected of not being part of an official labor organization or student body if they were not wearing alma mater jackets. Furthermore, support for violent actions has increased, whereas in the past, we anarchists were always scapegoated and blamed by society, the press, and the government.
